Tom Bedell began building guitars as a teenager and his enterprising father was able to set up a manufacturing deal for him in Japan. His brand and designs were an enormous success, but he was called elsewhere, and didn't return to luthery until 2010.
Today, Bedell guitars are made in Bend, Oregon, and Tom has re-established himself as one the most talented and conscientious builders on the scene. All of his wood is responsibly harvested, meaning no pieces from "clear-cuts" or post-cities endangered trees. He only has three body styles: dreadnought, OM, and parlor, but his massive library of tone-wood is second to none. He isn't just a master purveyor, however. He and his team have developed a sound that is unique, yet familiar. His instruments combine modern clarity and balance with vintage bite.
