If this guitar were a fantasy home, the first thing you’d notice is the high ceilings. The highs are insanely sweet and interesting. You’ll spend hours shaping them with subtle shifts in technique. The bass is a low, warm rumble that caresses you like hot tub jets. The mids do a heroic job holding things together, like a pianist who knows their way around a sustain pedal. There’s a lot to listen to here and it’s all quite loud and beautiful.
The abalone trim dazzles while still focusing you on the Aged Adirondack top. The snowflake inlay on the fretboard and bridge is delicate and svelte, exploding into the floral piece on the headstock.
The real star, however, is the Madagascar back. It combines all the striking visual elements that we love about the coveted tonewood in one big, dreadnought sized package. It’s got straighter grain towards the center sandwiched by dark streaks which are in turn sandwiched by red swirls. It’s a whole host of landscapes to behold.
