Bourgeois L-DBO Sunburst
There’s something about the Bourgeois interpretation of the historic Gibson “Parlor” body shape that really hits the spot. I’ve seen numerous vintage and modern acoustic guitars in this vein, and while some were phonenimal, the rest were underwhelming at best. It’s a difficult balance to strike.
The trick is to imbue the expected midrange response with an uncanny bass current that channels a guitar twice the size. When you strike a chord, you should be able to clearly hear every note AND feel like you’re at least partially submerged in a wave of overtones. This is how Bourgeois has worked his magic with this L-DBO.
Just like he did with his dreads in the 90s, Dana has found the secret recipe for expanding the possibilities of an iconic body style. This L-DBO is sweet, tough, defined, intimate, and panoramic. It looks like it sounds, with all the nuance and complexity of a western sunset contained within.
