Product Description

If you’re looking for a tour-ready all-arounder that plays like a bowl of melted butter and translates beautifully through a PA, then look no further! Due to a dearth of high-end instruments on the continent, Maton established itself as the Martin of Australia in the 1940s. Since then the company has been refining and expanding their approach to guitar-building to the point that they’ve ended up with a sound all their own. It’s a lively, springy sound with many layers to it.

This stellar dreadnought couples premium Sitka Spruce with Blackwood back and sides for a direct, full tone at any volume. Some lovely figuring and shading, too. It is very, very balanced, making it a breeze for rhythm, lead, finger-style, and even percussive playing. It’s got a warm, enveloping midrange that picks up every detail of the right hand. The Queensland Maple neck has a nice stiffness and profile that’s designed for long hours on stage.

Maton's SRS70C is a straightforward dreadnought with exceptional in-hand feel and strikingly layered tone. It's "A" Grade Sitka Spruce top and Blackwood back and sides make for an enticing tonal package in the guitar's dreadnought cutaway body. This tonewood combo and body shape yield great versatility, with high-fret access and well-rounded tone both easily achievable. Plus, Maton X Bracing makes the guitar project exceptionally well, with a bold voice that will help it light up any room it’s played in. The AP-5 Pro pickup ensures that you’re heard even in the loudest of venues, while a Bone nut & saddle, Ivory ABS bridge pins, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, and Queensland Maple neck provides exceptional playing comfort. Like all Matons, this guitar was hand-made in Australia.
