Have you been looking for a tube mic with plenty of character but one that's got a color that won't paint your mix into a corner? Check out the CV3! It's lively and responsive enough to still allow acoustic instruments to shine and pop through a busy mix, but with just enough smoothness to still work well on vocals that need help finding their place and settling into a mix. This mic is most ideal for studios that don't have the budget for a variety of expensive mics with different flavors, or a studio that records such a wide variety of instruments and vocal styles that it needs mics that will be useful in a broad variety of applications.
The CV3 9-Pattern Tube Condenser Microphone from Miktek is a large-diaphragm tube condenser mic that features 9 selectable polar patterns including omnidirectional, cardioid, figure-8, and the transitional patterns between those. It is designed for use on vocals, piano, string ensembles, woodwinds, drum overheads or as a room mic.
The CV3 is hand-assembled in Nashville with dual 1" MK9 capsules and a 5-micron Mylar, evaporate-gold diaphragms. The placement of the back-plate diaphragm is designed for linear off-axis response to increase the CV3's accuracy. Its hand-selected subminiature pentode-vacuum tube is coupled with the mic's custom AMI output transformer to provide a warm response typically sought after in tube microphones.
Each microphone includes an individual serialized frequency-response graph created during final testing in addition to a power supply, 7-pin XLR cable, swivel mount, shockmount, wooden box, and aluminum storage case.
