The Fender Custom Shop Willcutt True ’62 Stratocaster is a beautifully executed recreation of the early-’60s Strat, combining vintage-inspired character with the consistency and playability of a modern Custom Shop instrument. This example features a striking 3-Tone Sunburst finish over an alder body, complemented by a flamed maple neck and dark AAA rosewood fingerboard. The custom-wound True ’62 pickups give the guitar the clear, lively response associated with a great vintage Strat, with plenty of snap, warmth and dynamic expression across the range. The shattered journeyman finish and carefully chosen period-style appointments add to its authentic appearance, while the modern Custom Shop construction makes it an exceptionally enjoyable instrument to play. Originally produced as a special Willcutt Guitars collaboration, this is a distinctive take on the early-’60s Strat that combines vintage character, excellent playability and a particularly appealing set of appointments.
