Fender Guitars was created by Leo Fender, a pioneer and a designer-builder that was ahead of his time. Fender is still well known for their telecasters and stratocasters that Leo Fender designed in the 1950's.  Ironically much of the boutique electric guitar buidlers do not stray far from Leo's early designs because their still the most popular guitar designs being built today.
