Browne Amplification
Browne Amplification was founded by David Browne in 2018 as a direct result of a fruitful collaboration with session guitarist Adam Sniegowski. The idea was to house two classic overdrives in one enclosure; a transparent, mid-forward “blues” OD and a slightly thicker “Nashville” circuit. With these two tonal profiles in tow (and the ability to stack them for added bristle) Sniegowski found that he was able to plug into virtually any back-line and instantly conjure the sounds in his head.
The Protein Dual Overdrive has swiftly become one of the most popular pedals of its kind. From its no-nonsense Ham radio visual aesthetic to its masterfully curated spectrum of dirt, guitarists in every genre find it irresistible. Browne was careful to tailor the mids, gain, and bass to allow the Protein to sit comfortably in any mix, which means every subtle setting shift is viable. Having spent years playing and deconstructing overdrives, Browne finally arrived at the perfect recipe.
The T4 Fuzz takes a similar approach to a vintage Fuzz tone, specifically, a 4-transistor “Big Muff” circuit. Everyone loves fuzz on record, but in person, it oftens comes off as too scooped and extreme. Browne softens and smooths the fuzz to make it more appealing to a wider audience. The T4 Fuzz proves that one can sound both heavy and family-friendly. From subtle to saturated, it still sounds remarkably sweet.
We’re thrilled to carry Browne Amplification pedals at Midwood Guitar Studio. They scratch an old sonic itch with incredible precision. Give us a call or stop by and let’s put one or both of these pedals on your board.
